This Christmas, the King family will be one of thousands that we will help with Christmas food hampers and new toys through our ‘Stuff the Bus’ Christmas appeal.
Steve and Becky King live with their six children in Brisbane. Our Street Teams met this beautiful family early this year at one of our community events.
Becky fell ill and was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas last year, and has since had to endure many days of illness and side effects from the chemotherapy. Steve has worked most of his life, but had to leave his job to become primary carer of Becky and their six beautiful children.
Our Street Teams were determined that this family would not go through this difficult season alone. Several team members cooked meals, while others practically assisted them around their home. Some weeks the team would bring ‘Kilo of Kindness’ bags to help keep their pantry stocked.
Steve and Becky continue to live in hope despite the emotional and financial toll they have experienced this past year.
