A GLOBAL PRAYER MOVEMENT
(Gifts, nations, prayer, paper-birds, waterfalls & melting snow)
When I felt compelled to create the 2012 'Colour GIFT', my hope was that it would be more than a pretty book that sat on a shelf or coffee table. My hope was that it would visually position the daughters of planet earth before our caring eyes. In the same way that they are not hidden from His loving eyes, I felt they needed to be tangibly positioned before ours. And so with a handful of friends we went about researching the regions of the earth, the nations within and the challenges the women of these nations face.
I have discovered that prayer is not a lame response to the problems of the earth. It is THE most powerful response. Prayer makes a way for God's goodness and answers to prevail. Prayer pushes back the darkness and makes a way for Light to prevail. Prayer takes authority in the spiritual realm, allowing natural authorities to make inroads. It has been said that "all it takes for evil to prevail, is for good men to do Nothing". I believe the same can be said of prayer - all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men and women to never pray!
So at the 2012 Colour Conference in Sydney, London, Cape Town and Kiev we gifted this journal to the delegates in attendance, with the intent that it might help MOBILISE A MOVEMENT OF PRAYER AND RESPONSE. I believe the Holy Spirit took the moment and as with all prayer, perhaps only eternity will tell the full story. Over 28,000 journals were given, and we¹ve taken a faith step in producing more for those who were not able to be in attendance.
There's room within the pages for you to 'commit to paper', your own dreams and aspirations for not only yourself but your friends and family and then as you prayerfully flip each page, it gives you a beautiful and hopefully moving glimpse of the daughters (our sisters) who are scattered across the face of the earth. It also lists some of the challenges each region faces, such as political instability, poverty, abuse, trafficking, etc. The cost of the journal is relatively minimal and I hope many others around the world will go online, purchase one (or a few for friends) and join those already praying.
Perhaps it will become a faithful companion to your cherished bible, and that one day, your grandchildren will look back and bear witness to a woman of faith, who pencilled her concern and prayers on the pages of a well-worn SHE IS ONE, SHE IS MANY journal that sought to place value upon womanhood and humanity. May eternity be full of encounters of those who were on the receiving end of YOUR prayers.
The gallery of images and the video link will also give you a greater insight to the gift moment and the heart behind this initiative.
Let's continue to rise up and be "our sisters' keepers". We love you and if you've never been to Colour, we hope that sometime soon our worlds can collide there. In the meantime have a blessed New Year and a heaven kissed 2013.
We'd love to hear and chat with you about your prayer requests and testimonies, join the converstaion here.
