It's been many months since our world heard the first announcement from the Vision Sunday presentation, “MELBOURNE”! Over the next number of months we prayerfully considered who the Campus Pastors would be, how we would start and where we would meet.
We entered 2012 with a promise in our hearts. Pastor Brian came into the new year with Psalm 65:11 on his heart - "You have crowned the year with Your goodness (favour) and your paths drip with abundance" (NKJV). We have already seen so many miracles of healing, provision and turnarounds.
I was talking to a friend who said he has a friend whose dad knows someone who owns many venues in Melbourne. Through four degrees of separation, God connected us to a wonderful family who has helped us with renting a theatre for our first gathering.

This was a majestic venue on Collins Street that would allow us to seat close to 1,000 people. As you can see from these pictures, we had hundreds lining up before we opened the doors. A packed foyer caused a rush of excitement for people to flow into a well-prepared team waiting for them.
We were overwhelmed with the night. We ran out of seats within the first few minutes, and didn't have enough bibles for the 88 people that committed their lives to Jesus.
Today, Tim and Nicola Douglass are packing up their house in Sydney in order to make the big move to Melbourne next week. This will be a fresh start for them and for our team.
We are thrilled with the opportunity God has given us in Melbourne. The reception from many of the pastors of great churches shows the breadth and depth of Christian maturity in Victoria.
We will continue to have more gatherings every month as we head toward our first Christmas service this December!
