Kidsong World 2011 [VIDEO]

This was a big year for Kidsong, the official kids program of Hillsong Conference. You see, we have been running Kidsong at Acer Arena for the last few years and every year going back is like visiting your grandparents... you know what to expect and nothing much changes from year to year.
So moving into the centre of the city was a big deal for our Hillsong Kids staff and leaders. There were so many unknowns and potential surprises that we didn't want to be surprised by. There were many different ways we could have organized the conference and the challenge is to pick the best one without having seen it in action.
The week before (actually the Friday before) conference we received confirmation on the plan we had been working towards. We were to put up marquees in the forecourt of the Entertainment centre and alongside the Novotel Hotel next door and the City Campus of Hillsong Church make a brilliant experience for all our beautiful kid delegates.
It's very hard, even in a city like Sydney to get an ideal venue to suit kids ministry and in fact the Entertainment centre is one of hardest in Sydney to run a program for children in. There is a running joke about a room (one of the only) in the venue called the Jack Neary room... well... put it this way... if I was him, I certainly wouldn't want that room named after me!
So our motto in Hillsong Kids is "We will make it happen". And happen it did! Probably the greatest experience for the individual children I have seen in the years running this conference, and we did it inside what amounts to tents in the middle of winter.
