Hillsong 'Aussie' Sisterhood

Hillsong Collected

As I stood in worship at our final Sisterhood United for 2012, I got a little teary as I remembered the year that was! The year that was titled by Pastor Brian as the 'Year Crowned with His Goodness.' It has been SO GOOD! And by the way... our last Sisterhood United for 2012 was... not enough GOOD words to describe it. Let's just say, don't miss Sisterhood United in February 2013 and don't delay in signing yourself and your girlfriends up for Colour Sydney in March 2013.

As with any family, we had a year of highs & lows, laughter & tears, momentous mountain top experiences and the simplicity of the every, ordinary day! And as I looked out across a sea of incredibly beautiful women with their hands raised in worship, I was overwhelmed with a grateful heart for every ONE of these women who are SISTERHOOD!

Women who selflessly volunteered countless hours to ensure our Aussie Sisterhood had our BEST and most influential year yet. Our largest weekly gatherings ever recorded in our church history and a weekly passion that made every Thursday a JOY to belong to. Not to mention our Mega Pink Party - this morning was so good and so was the moment we honoured some of our very brave cancer fighters, who we shared an intimate lunch with afterwards. Our pamper zones and the endless hands moisturized, nails painted, shoulders massaged, all went to another stratosphere as did our morning teas, after parties, and even a little Latin dancing... seriously! And the best news, is the multitudes who surrendered their lives to Jesus for the first time! Eeekkkkk I love SISTERHOOD and all it represents.

It felt like Colour 2012 was so long ago but again, I was reminded of the incredible privilege it was to host two, filled to capacity conferences, back to back where the lives of women were valued in the most extravagant ways, as our hearts were stirred to be change-agents, for good across the earth.

Sisterhood for the girls of Hillsong Australia, is not simply a one-off event or a weekly gathering... although it’s these things as well! Sisterhood is WHO WE ARE {and who we belong to... JESUS} every single day of the year! We are a movement of every day girls seeking to love Jesus the best we know how and to represent Him in the best way we can.

I think if you asked some of our core girls what their highlight of our weekly Sisterhood Thursday morning gatherings were, they would unanimously agree that our BE THE CHANGE mornings were a highlight. Mornings where we 'rolled up our sleeves' with the purpose to 'get our hands dirty' and make a felt difference in the lives of individuals & families in our communities. From morning teas in hospitals & nursing homes, to BBQ's provided amongst drug & alcohol affected men and women, to home make-overs and renovations, to letter writing to men & women incarcerated for their faith, to baking for local businesses and parenting courses for Mum's with their new bubs (actually the list is too extensive to write)...
I am so encouraged and proud of our girls who not only LOVE the Sisterhood message, BUT LIVE IT!

I think I speak for all the girls (across our Hillsong Aussie campuses) when I say how GRATEFUL we are for Pastor Bobbie... we call her BOBBIE! For her heaven breathed teaching, for her infectious passion for the lost and hurting, her love for the House of God and her seemingly endless vision... that she volunteers us for {BIG SMILE}. We love you Bobbie and we love that we are alive at the same time in history TOGETHER! We love that we've done life together in 2012 and cannot wait for all God has ahead for us in 2013.

I'm in!!!

Truck loads of love
