"I Desire Jesus" is one of those rare songs that felt more like it was received than crafted. I was sitting at the piano one night working on a different song idea when I sang the line "I desire Jesus" and couldn't get past it. Out of the time of worship that followed, "I Desire Jesus" was written basically in its entirety.
It's a simple song reflecting on Jesus as Saviour, Lord and our soon and coming King. Although I know it now to be a congregational song, I never expected it to go beyond the intimate and personal setting in which it was written and to me it will always be a song of personal devotion.
